Our Approach
At Tstes Like Home Ltd, sustainability isn't an afterthought — it's woven into how we operate. We believe that celebrating Afro-Caribbean culture through food should never come at the expense of the planet or the people who make it possible.
As a small business, we recognise that every decision we make has an impact. We are committed to continuously improving our practices and being transparent with our customers about where we are on that journey.
Packaging
All of our meal kit packaging is designed to minimise waste. We use recyclable and where possible compostable materials, and we're continuously reviewing our packaging to reduce plastic. We encourage all customers to recycle packaging in line with their local council guidelines.
What we ask of you
Please rinse and recycle your packaging after use. Ice packs can be defrosted and the water safely poured away. We're working towards fully home-compostable packaging and will update our customers as we make progress.
Ingredient Sourcing
We work with suppliers who share our values. Our ingredients are sourced with care, prioritising quality, provenance, and fair treatment of producers. We favour suppliers who can demonstrate responsible farming and ethical labour practices.
As we grow, we are committed to building longer-term relationships with suppliers from the Caribbean and African diaspora communities, supporting the cultures whose food we celebrate.
Food Waste
Our meal kits are portioned precisely to reduce food waste at the customer end. Behind the scenes, we work hard to forecast demand accurately and donate surplus stock where possible to local food banks and community organisations.
Delivery
We plan our delivery routes to consolidate journeys and reduce unnecessary mileage. We are actively exploring lower-emission delivery options as we scale and will transition to greener logistics as soon as it is operationally viable.

We are a small but growing business and we do not claim to have all the answers. What we do commit to is being honest about our progress, listening to our customers, and making better choices at every opportunity. We will publish updates to this page as our sustainability practices develop.
